Fredrick Kristian “Fred” Hoiberg is an American basketball coach who is currently the head coach for the Chicago Bulls of the NBA. Previously, Hoiberg was the men’s basketball head coach for Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Hoiberg grew up in Ames and played college basketball at Iowa State. He then played professional basketball for ten years and served as vice president for basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves before beginning his coaching career. At Ames High School in Iowa, he played quarterback for the school’s football team and captained the school’s basketball team. He then went on to play four years of college basketball at Iowa State.
